Who are we?
Low Carb Gourmet was founded by Helen Chauhan and Frances Dunwell. They are both committed to LCHF eating and their combined skills and expertise are ideally suited to create a practical LCHF food solution for you.
Helen Chauhan is a former registered nurse and health care executive, who, in her 40s, discovered that everything she knew about healthy eating was wrong. After decades of low fat eating, she found herself gaining weight (despite exercising for 5 or more hours a week), chronically tired and suffering from digestive problems.
Fortunately, in 2012 Helen discovered LCHF and she has turned her health around. Inspired by her personal success, Helen enrolled with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and trained as a Certified Health Coach. Now she works with people who want to lose weight and improve their health and she specialises in supporting clients in their transition to a LCHF lifestyle.
Frances Dunwell gained her Diploma in Hotel Catering & Management in the UK. During her career with Trust House Forte Group she worked alongside the head chef at commercial catering division, Gardner Merchant.
A passionate cook, she loves exploring recipes and preparing fantastic food for her husband and 4 grown-up children. In 2015, her husband Gary visited his GP for a routine health check and was horrified to discover that he was pre-diabetic.
Determined to avoid medication, Gary took advice from Helen Chauhan, Nutritionist & Health Coach, and decided to give LCHF a go. At first, Frances was worried about using more fat in her cooking, but Gary loved this new way of eating and was never hungry.
Very soon the whole family was converted. Frances has coeliac disease and found that on LCHF it was simple to avoid gluten. Gary began losing weight immediately and within a few months, his blood sugar control was back to normal. There's no going back for the Dunwell family now.
